Pearlie H. Washington, Jr., age 77 of Ripley, Ohio, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Batavia Nursing Care Center in Batavia, Ohio. He was a United States Army Veteran and was retired from the Village of Ripley, where he worked on the garbage truck for over twenty six years. Mr. Washington was born June 6, 1934 in Mason County, Kentucky the son of the late Pearlie H. and Genevieve (Lang) Washington. He was also preceded in death by two sisters - Mary Ann Washington and Dorothy Morton; three brothers - Stanley and Eddie Washington and Freddie Overly.
Mr. Washington is survived by his wife, Shirley (Pritchett) Washington; six sons - Kevin Pritchett of Denver, Colorado, Gavin Pritchett of Aberdeen, Ohio, Jamie Pritchett of Wilmington, Ohio, David Pritchett of Ripley, Ohio, Michael Pritchett of Aberdeen, Ohio and Darrell Wayne Richmond of Ripley, Ohio; nine grandchildren; one brother, Robert Washington of Maysville, Kentucky; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
