Barbara Jean (Carter) Vaughn

Barbara Jean Vaughn, age 76 of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Point in Maysville, Kentucky. She was retired from the US Shoe Factory. Barbara was born May 6, 1939 in Georgetown, Ohio the daughter of the late Virgil and Helen (Day) Carter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband – James Vaughn, twin grandsons – Dylan and Shane Carter, one brother – Joseph Carter and one sister – Bonnie Carter.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by six children – Virgil L. “Skip” Carter of Lebanon, Ohio, James C. Vaughn and wife Melodee of New Richmond, Ohio, Danny R. Vaughn of Georgetown, Ohio, Joy B. Powell and husband Richard of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Randy D. Vaughn and wife Teresa of Georgetown, Ohio and Tonya J. Shelton and fiancé Robert Bennington of Higginsport, Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; four brothers – Ralph Carter of Greenfield, Ohio, Roger Carter and wife Joann of Georgetown, Ohio, William Carter and wife Donna of Hilliard, Ohio and Terry Carter and wife Rita of Sardinia, Ohio; three sisters – Alberta Bailey and Vickie Carter both of Tollesboro, Kentucky and Nikki McIntosh of Maysville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Don Whisler will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
