Bessie Eleanor Sidwell

Bessie Eleanor Sidwell, age 89 of Ripley, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation near Ripley.  She worked at the former U.S. Shoe Factory in Ripley and was a homemaker.  She was also a charter member of the Ripley Church of the Nazarene.  Mrs. Sidwell was born October 28, 1925 in Adams County, Ohio the daughter of the late Herman Louis and Ocie Florence (Hardin) Swearingen.  She was also preceded in death by two husbands – Glen Olin Truesdell and George Sidwell; one sister – Elizabeth Murl Bradford and one brother – Roy Swearingen.

Mrs. Sidwell is survived by three daughters – Carol Willoughby of Smithfield, Kentucky, Connie Pfister of Cincinnati, Ohio and Donna Jodrey of New Richmond, Ohio; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and one sister – Lora Eileen McCleese of West Union, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Ripley Church of the Nazarene in Ripley, Ohio.  Rev. Clark Castle will officiate.  Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Monday at the church.  Interment will follow the funeral service in Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley.
