Carl Frederick Bauer, age 78, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Heartland of Beavercreek Nursing Home in Beavercreek, Ohio.  He was retired from Bell and Howell after nearly thirty years of service and working in Cincinnati, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri.  He was also a United States Air Force Vietnam War Era Veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.  Mr. Bauer loved baseball and softball, was a lifelong Reds fans, and spent much time playing and coaching ball. He later became an avid golfer. Few things made him as happy as traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Bauer was born February 26, 1937 in Levanna, Ohio the son of the late Carl Oscar and Doris Marie (Sweeney) Bauer.

Mr. Bauer is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years – Beulah Katherine (Jones) Bauer; one daughter – Amy Cawvey and husband Bryan of Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana; two sons – Jon Bauer and wife Barbara of Washington, Missouri and Chris Bauer and wife Carol of Franklin, Tennessee; eight grandchildren – Jason, Jessica and Hannah Cawvey, Michael, Matt, Molly, Tyler and Tim Bauer; three sisters – Carol Beach of Ryan Park, Wyoming, Jennifer Perdue of Blacksburg, Virginia and Lisa Osvold of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one brother – Jerry Bauer of Creston, British Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Ripley Church of Christ in Ripley, Ohio.  Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, at the church.  Interment will be in Pisgah Ridge Cemetery near Ripley with military honors being provided by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post 367 of Ripley, Ohio.
