Jacqueline Tucker

Jacqueline Roberts Tucker of Georgetown, Ohio formerly of Ashland, Kentucky, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio.  She was born December 5, 1923 in Pike County Kentucky one of ten children of the late John and Cora Roberts. In addition to her husband, Harvey Tucker, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters - Ked Roberts, John Roberts, Jr., Violet Williams, Marie Meade, Bryan Roberts, Harry Gene Roberts and Nell Ruth Crooks Barnett.  Jackie met her husband Harvey while both were serving in the United States Navy during World War II.  They were married in 1945 and moved to Ashland, Kentucky where their three children were born.  They were married 61 years until Harvey’s death in 2007.  Jackie retired from the J.C. Penney Company in Ashland, Kentucky.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by two daughters – Sue Horton and husband Joe of Lexington, Kentucky and Becky Fite and husband Jeff of Hamersville, Ohio; one son – Randy Tucker of Georgetown, Ohio; three grandchildren – Sarah, Ethan and Emily Fite; one sister – Shirley Sloas and one brother – Franklin Roberts. Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and extended family and friends.  She had many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.  Jackie had the type of personality that drew people to her.  She was known for her positive attitude and upbeat, kind disposition.  She was very proud of being a member of Mt. Orab First Baptist Church.  During her four years at the Ohio Veterans home, she made many friends and received excellent care.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio.  Bill Kirby, Tim Maynard, Franklin Roberts and Fred Witten will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
