Pamela Sue (Steele) Layman

Pamela Sue Layman, age 63 of Georgetown, Ohio died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at her residence. She retired after 25 years of services from the Brown County Recorders Office, a member and former preschool director of the Georgetown Church Christ in Georgetown, Ohio, the Brown County Republican Party and the Georgetown Christmas Association. Pam loved the Lord and refused to let life's troubles move her from her faith . She loved her family with all her heart and made sure they knew where she drew her strength from.  She touched many lives and was humbled by the love poured out to her by family and friends. She was born May 7, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Hollan) Steele. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister – Vi Steele McCane, three brothers – Jerry D. Steele, Larry W. Steele and Daniel B. Steele and father-in-law – Earl Layman.

Mrs. Layman is survived by her husband of years 44 years -  Mike Layman whom she married September 3, 1971; two daughters – Mariah Votel and husband Michael of Hamersville, Ohio and Michelle Moye and husband Jody of Georgetown, Ohio; five grandchildren – Tyler, Justin and Reagan Votel all of Hamersville, Ohio and William and Jillian Moye both of Georgetown, Ohio; five sisters – Jean Rose of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gloria “Nokie” Steele of Moscow, Ohio, Betty Fussnecker of Batavia, Ohio, Emily Steele of Tavernier, Florida and Alice Hile of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother – Gary Z. Steele and wife Sondy of Georgetown, Ohio; mother-in-law - Edna Layman of Mt.Orab, Ohio; three sisters-in-law – Betty Steele of Bethel, Ohio, Sandra Schertenleib of The Dalles, Oregon, Charlyn Liming and husband Shawn of Sanford, North Carolina; five brothers-in-law – Terry McCane of Franklinton, North Carolina, Larry Layman and wife Sue of Sardinia, Ohio, Tony Layman and wife Melanie of Loveland, Ohio, Terry Layman and the late Susan of Dallas, Texas and  Darwin Layman and wife Melissa of Mt.Orab, Ohio and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 P.M.  Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
