Ronald George Sroufe

Ronald George Sroufe, age 83 of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Ripley, Ohio died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at his residence. He was a retired teacher, administrator and personnel director for the Columbus City Schools, a former Deacon for the Beebe Chapel Church in Ripley, Ohio and a United State Korean War Marine veteran. Ronald was born September 4, 1932 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Stanley A. and Florence (Board) Sroufe, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers – Stanley A. Sroufe, Jr. and William Sroufe and five sisters – Victoria Sroufe, Frances Ross, Doris Jenkins, Linda Allen and Jacqueline Wallace.

Mr. Sroufe is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Joyce (Thomas) Sroufe; one brother – Gordon Sroufe and wife Frances of Galloway, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James Settles will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio with military services by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 of Ripley, Ohio.
