Ruth Amelia (Spires) Schumacher

Ruth Amelia Schumacher, age 85 of Ripley, Ohio, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley.  She was a homemaker.  Mrs. Schumacher was born November 7, 1930 in Adams County, Ohio the daughter of the late Alva Kenneth and Edna Pearl (Tomlen) Spires.  She was also preceded in death by her husband – Charles C. Schumacher; one son Charles Schumacher, Jr.; three sisters – Wilma Jean McGovney. Clara Belle Skeens and Wanda Spires; six brothers – Shelly, June, Carlos, Arnold, Billy and Bobby Spires.

Mrs. Schumacher is survived by three daughters – Mary Opal Daulton and husband Barney of Ripley, Ohio, Rosa Lee Holsinger and husband Dale of Manchester, Ohio and Carolyn Kessel and husband Richard of Ripley, Ohio; two sons – Robert “Hank” Schumacher and wife Debbie of Sardinia, Ohio and Patrick Schumacher and wife Misty of Missouri; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters – Peggy DeVore and husband Joe of Bentonville, Ohio, Della Wolfe of Kettering, Ohio and Ruby Sargeant of Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio.  Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley.
