William Joseph Germann, Sr., age 88 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio.  He was a farmer and worked in construction.  Mr. Germann was also a United States Army WWII Veteran, a member and Past Commander (15 years) of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 in Ripley, a member of the VFW in Maysville, Kentucky, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was born June 3, 1927 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Brown) Germann.  He was also preceded in death by his wife in 1995 – Ada Lee (Jones) Germann; one granddaughter - Amanda Germann Basford; one brother – George Germann; four sisters – Rosemary Germann, Mary Rose Pritchard, Bertha Stivers and Louella Germann.

Mr. Germann is survived by one daughter – Elizabeth List and husband David of Ripley, Ohio; seven sons – William Joseph Germann, Jr. and wife Wanda of Ripley, Ohio, George Germann and wife Carla of Georgetown, Ohio, Greg Germann and wife Susan of Ripley, Ohio, Bob Germann and wife Perianne of Ripley, Ohio, Charles August Germann and wife Lisa of Felicity, Ohio, Thomas Germann and wife Amy of Bryceville, Florida and John Germann of Ripley, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; one brother – Paul Germann of Ripley, Ohio and a special friend – Betty Schuler of Ripley, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 A.M. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio.  Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley.  Interment will be in Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley with military honors provided by the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 of Ripley, Ohio.
