Mary Frances (McDavid) Loomis

Mary Frances Loomis (nee McDavid), age 82 of Cornelius, North Carolina and formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at her residence.  After raising her children, she enjoyed working hard, playing golf, bowling and playing card games with the family.  Mary was the type of person who never met a stranger and many people remembered her after meeting her one time.  She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews very much. She was born December 29, 1935 on a farm in Hamersville, Ohio the daughter of the late George and Esta (Jarvis) McDavid.  The ‘farm’ where she was born and raised was near and dear to her heart throughout her years.  Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers and their wives, John (Geneva) McDavid and Ronald “Mac” (Cindy) McDavid.

Ms. Loomis is survived by four children - Shirley (Ken) Gorni, Jeannie (Jim) Schweisthal, Scott (Linda) Loomis and Shawn (Joshlyn) Loomis; nine grandchildren - Chris (Bonnie) Gorni, Jason (Akiko) Gorni, Christy Schweisthal, Austin Schweisthal, Michael (Ashley) Taylor, Chad (Karissa) Ellis, Brendan Loomis, Cameron Loomis and Kasen Loomis; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters - Phyllis (Don) Miller and Carol (Truman) King and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.       

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. A memorial gathering will from 12:30 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
