Ruth Virginia (Downing) Thomson

Ruth Virginia Thomson, age 83 of Sardinia, Ohio died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio. She was the business office manager at the former Brown County General Hospital for twenty-five years and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Arnheim, Ohio.

Mrs. Thomson was born September 15, 1935 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late William Kenton and Agnes Cecilia (Fussnecker) Downing. She was also preceded in death by husbands – James Daugherty and Thomas Thomson; one daughter – Debbie Armour and an infant son; four brothers – Paul, Wilford Eugene, William and David Allen Downing and three sisters – Doris Downing, Mary Klump and Dorothy Woody.

Mrs. Thomson is survived by two granddaughters – Lyndsey Davis and husband Brent of Winchester, Ohio and Bethany Carrington and husband Nathan of Ripley, Ohio; three great grandchildren – Weston, Hayden and Kylie Carrington; two step granddaughters – Vicky Adamkosky and husband Josh of Cincinnati, Ohio and Mindy Adams and husband Kyler of New Richmond, Ohio; three step great grandchildren – Olivia, C.J. Adamkosky and Tripp Adams; son-in-law – Bobby Armour and wife Vivian of Ripley, Ohio; one brother – Jerry Downing and wife Donna of Georgetown, Ohio; many nieces and nephews and a special and dear friend – Eileen “Kitty” Dupoy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Arnheim, Ohio. Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
