Betty Jean Whitacre, age 79 of Mt. Orab, Ohio died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at her residence. She was a homemaker. Betty was born March 22, 1936 in Shinkles Ridge, Ohio the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Mason) Gilkison. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son – Mike Whitacre, one grandchild – Josh Whitacre; three brothers – Otto, Walter and Robert Gilkison and three sisters – Margaret Wallingford, Josephine Gilkison and Mary Newberry

Mrs. Whitacre is survived by her husband – Daniel Whitacre; five children – Jerry, Jamie and Randy Whitacre, Annette Bates and Britt Whitacre; fifteen grandchildren – Ryan, Leslie, Lucas, Jamiee, Joroan, Marissa, Adam, Katie, Seth, Phoebe and Serah Whitacre, Mackenzie Gale, Tanika Mingua, Brittany and Braunson Bates; eight great grandchildren – Norah Bates, Madalyn, Grey and Kalianna Whitacre, Joseph and Tameena Mingua, Quentin Basford and Landon Scott; one brother – Paul Gilkison and one sister – Evelyn Helton.

Memorial services will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2015 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Damon Hatten will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.  Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
