John Dennis "Mac" McIntyre, age 78 of Ripley, Ohio, died Friday, December 3, 2010 at Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio. He was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran. He served as a firefighter at Haneda Air Force Base in Tokyo, Japan and made many missions to Korea between 1951 and 1954. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. McIntyre was born January 31, 1932 in Lafayette, Indiana the son of the late Francis Maynard and Anna Marie (Hession) McIntyre.

Mr. McIntyre married the late Betty Adams Nicewonger on October 31, 1955. His three children, Patricia, Nancy and Michael, from their marriage survive him and reside in Reno, Nevada. He later married Helen Price, who also preceded him in death.

In addition to his children, he is survived by one sister - Mary Ann Michael of Cleveland, Tennessee and very close friends, Ginger and Dick Sullenberger of Ripley, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Dohrman Byers will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery near Ripley, Ohio. Condolences may be sent to the family at the link above.
