Ralph Louis Dotson

Ralph Louis Dotson, age 87 of Georgetown, Ohio, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his residence. He was a retired farmer, owned and operated Dotson's Lawn Care Service, previously owned several car washes and Laundromats, was a United States WW II Army Veteran and a member of the Walter Miller American Legion Post #394, Faith in God Fellowship Church in Russellville, Ohio and was a member of the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene in Georgetown, Ohio for over 40 years. Ralph was a Christian man and his faith in God was shown in his life everyday. His strong faith helped get him through his illness. He loved the outdoors, farming, gardening and he especially loved fishing with his grandchildren and friends. He was born January 27, 1922 in Lawshe, Ohio, the son of the late John Henry and Polly (nee McCoy) Dotson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Edna (nee Boone) Dotson, one brother - Donald Dotson, one sister - Verle Phares and one granddaughter - Tina Dotson.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol Jean (nee Dickens) Dotson; five children - Diane Multner and husband Mike of Cincinnati, Ohio; Dean Dotson and wife Bonnie of Russellville, Ohio; Dale Dotson and wife Jill of Wilmington, Ohio; Shannon Dotson and wife Paula of Ripley, Ohio and Tonya Schloemer of Alexandria, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren - Travis, Mark, Randy, Andy, Joni, Michael, Cole, Chase and Bryson Dotson, Matthew Botkins and Ella and Jack Schloemer; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters - Ruth Arvay of Toledo, Ohio and Jerry McLain of Ripley, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, 4884 State Route 125, Georgetown, Ohio 45121. Rev. Bill Kirby and Rev. Herb Norris will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Church. Interment will be at the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Ralph Dotson to Heartland Hospice, 25 Whitney Drive, Suite 102, Milford, Ohio 45150. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
