Ada Naomi Lindsey, age 91 of Mt.Orab, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro, Ohio. She was born January 26, 1931 in New Harmony, Ohio the daughter of the late Walter Harold and Cecile (McMullen) Long. Ada graduated from the Mt. Orab High School in 1948. On January 23, 1949 she married Lloyd Jerald McClain. To this union, they were blessed with five children and nearly 21 years of marriage before his death in 1969. Ada was a dedicated sales representative for Stanley Home Products for over 50 years. She was an active member of the Mt.Orab Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Mt.Orab Chapter #515 and the VFW Auxiliary serving as an officer and leader in all three organizations. Ada married Paul Sheldon Lindsey on August 24, 1991. They attended the Fairview Chapel Church in addition to the Mt.Orab Methodist Church and loved both church families and members. During their marriage, Paul and Ada traveled to many different states and enjoyed their time spent with family and friends. Ada took immense pride in her children’s accomplishments and found great joy in supporting her granddaughters, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In her final years, she was comforted by the dedicated care of her wonderful caregivers, whom she deeply appreciated. In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her husbands – Lloyd McClain in 1969 and Paul Lindsey in 2019; one son – Philip Craig McClain in 1957, one daughter – Tammy Jean Jenkins in 1994, one brother – Richard Long and three sisters – Berneda Roades, Velma Jane Hirons and Thelma Maude Long.
Mrs. Lindsey is survived by three children – Sheila Gail Dyer of Peebles, Ohio and Nancy Jo Hardy and Lloyd J. McClain and wife Georgette both of Mt.Orab, Ohio; eight granddaughters – J. Renae, Jessica, Emily, Kimberly, Sara, Erin, Samantha and Megan; twenty-one great grandchildren; four great-great grandsons; one sister-in-law – Janet Betlejewski and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio. Al Bolte and Ken Meyers will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Eastern Star Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Interment will be in the Mt.Orab Cemetery in Mt.Orab, Ohio.
