Albert F. Neel

Albert Francis Neel, age 86 of Georgetown, Ohio, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a farmer, a United States World War II Army Air Corp Veteran, a member and Elder of the Hamersville Church of Christ and a member of the Hamersville Board of Education, the Farm Bureau, the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 and the Production Credit Association for fifteen years. Albert was born on October 18, 1922 in Ripley, Ohio, the son of the late Lawrence E. and Bertha (Shelton) Neel. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother - Larry Neel.

Mr. Neel is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Lillian (Stanley) Neel, whom he married December 22, 1945; three sons - Dennis Neel and wife Carol of Knoxville, Tennessee; Terry Neel and wife Debbie of Hamersville, Ohio and Mark Neel and wife Lisa of Summerside, Ohio; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister - Roberta Clark of Hamersville, Ohio; one brother - Dickie Neel and wife Tess of Mt. Washington, Ohio and one sister-in-law - Ruth Neel of Mt. Washington, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Hamersville Church of Christ. Rev. Tom Friskney will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio with veterans services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Hamersville Church of Christ, 203 East Main, Hamersville, Ohio 45130. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown is serving the family.
