Barbara Lou (Swearingen) Burris

Barbara Lou (Swearingen) Burris, age 75 of Batavia, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her residence after a long battle of breast cancer. She was retired from Senco. Barbara was born September 4, 1941 in Decatur, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles “Doodle” and Mary Swearingen. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James J. “Jim” Burris, three sisters – Delores Williams, her twin Beverly Arnold and Dody Welch, one brother – George J. Swearingen, one niece – Nikki Lynn Swearingen and one nephew – Larry Edward Swearingen, Jr..

Mrs. Burris is survived by her daughter – Cathy Marshall of Georgetown, Ohio; one granddaughter – Erin Boone of Georgetown, Ohio; one brother – Larry Swearingen and companion Marilyn Bowen of Georgetown, Ohio; three nieces – Sherri Carrington and husband Gary and Tammy Aliff all of Georgetown, Ohio and Jill Nolan and husband Kevin of Cincinnati, Ohio; five nephews –Mark Arnold and wife Pam and Mike Arnold all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tim Swearingen and wife Susan, Todd Swearingen and Jamie Swearingen and wife Yvetta all of Georgetown, Ohio and Jeff Williams of Kentucky and many special great and great-great nieces and nephews whom each meant the world to her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Scott Hennig will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
