Bill Dragoo, Sr

David William (Bill) Dragoo, Sr., age 87, of Ripley, Ohio, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Mr. Dragoo was a retired farmer and letter carrier for the Ripley Post Office. He was also a World War II Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps. and a semi pro baseball pitcher in the Southern Ohio Leagues during the 1940's and 1950's. He was born on the family farm on Eagle Creek in Brown County, Ohio on May 22, 1919 the son of the late Clarence Day and Bertha Ann (Johnson) Dragoo. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jean (Klinker) Dragoo; two brothers - Clarence Day "Bob" Dragoo, Jr. and John R. "Pete" Dragoo and one grandson Greg Bradford.

Mr. Dragoo is survived by two daughters - Betty Campbell and husband, Bob of Ripley, Ohio and Judy Young and husband, Richard of Sardinia, Ohio; one son - Bill Dragoo, Jr. and wife, Ann of Ripley, Ohio; four grandchildren - David William Dragoo, III, and wife Tammy of Ripley, Ohio Daniel Day Dragoo, and wife, Melody of Ripley, Ohio, Abigail Catherine Scott of Sardinia, Ohio and Paul Richard Young of Sardinia, Ohio and three great granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Jaime Wirth will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 - 2 P.M.
