Marian Bond “Bonnie” Oney, age 84 of Hamersville, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Ohio Valley manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio. She was born April 29, 1942 in Richland, Virginia the daughter of the late Vernor and Edith (Hunt) Wyatt. Bonnie was a retired Registered Nurse who dedicated many years of compassionate service to the former Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. She was a faithful and active member of Mt. Nebo Global Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, participated in prayer groups and enjoyed fellowship with the church Prime Timers group. Family was the cornerstone of Bonnie's life and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She was an enthusiastic shopper, especially during the Christmas season, finding great joy in selecting thoughtful gifts for family and friends. Bonnie also delighted in decorating her home -both inside and out - to celebrate every season of the year. During the spring and summer months, she could often be found tending to the beautiful flower gardens that surrounded her home, a reflection of the care and love she poured into everything she did. Bonnie's kind spirit, unwavering faith, generous heart and deep love for her family will be remembered always and forever cherished by those who were blessed to know her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter – Mindy Oney in 1993 and two sisters – Jean Barbis and Joan Bender.
Mrs. Oney is survived by her loving husband of 61 years – Lonas Elden Oney whom she married May 28, 1965; two children – Mike Oney and wife Sarah of Mt. Healthy, Ohio and Shelly Arn and husband David of Russellville, Ohio; six grandchildren – Benjamin Oney and Emma Oney both of Mt. Healthy, Ohio, Cody Arn and wife Jerrica of Lexington, Kentucky, Jesse Arn and wife Mya, Kellan Arn and Lindy Arn all of Russellville, Ohio; one great granddaughter – Corinne Arn and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Mt. Nebo Global Methodist Church, 11693 State Route 774, Bethel, Ohio 45106. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 23, 2026 at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Felicity, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
