Bonnie Ruth (Hanselman) Swearingen

Bonnie Ruth Swearingen, age 88 of Georgetown, Ohio died Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Ohio. She retired after thirty years as the director of the Brown County Welfare Department on June 1, 1978. On January 1,1979 she was employed as a legal secretary for attorneys Ronald Dvorachek, Joseph Worley and Scott Gusweiler until her retirement in 2005. Bonnie was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, operated a ladies apparel shop named “Kelly’s”, was a charter member of the F.O.E. # 2273 Auxiliary and served on the first Brown County Metropolitan Housing Authority as a board member for seventeen years from 1994 until 2011. She was born February 3, 1931 in Sardinia, Ohio the daughter of the late Chris C. and Margaret (Ring) Hanselman. She was also preceded in death by her husband – Ned Swearingen, Jr. in 1967, whom she married July 5, 1952; one brother – Billy Hanselman; one sister-in-law – Velma Warner Hanselman and three nephews – Gary Lee, Randy Keith and Alan Kent Hanselman.

Bonnie is survived by three nieces – Pat Haag of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nedra (Ron) Vogler and Kristi (Dusty) Scott; one nephew – Chris (Susan) Hanselman of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law - Dee Hayes of Russellville, Ohio; great nieces and nephews – Nick Hanselman, Emily (Jack) Minihan, Clint (Allie) Hanselman and Allie Marie (Kyle Woollard) ,Trenton Scott, Shay (Kyle) Cluxton, Kayla Daulton) Vogler and Shari Vogler; great great nieces and nephews – Kinley and Kaylee Woollard, Aiden and Landon Alan Hanselman .

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. Saturday. Following the services, there will be a private family interment in Confidence Cemetery, Georgetown, Ohio.
