Brandon J. Winterod, age 47, of Georgetown, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania. He was born September 13, 1978, in Georgetown, Ohio, the son of Anita “Teet” (Riley) Winterod of Georgetown, Ohio, and the late Robert “Bob” Winterod. Brandon was a 1997 graduate of Georgetown High School and the Southern Hills Joint Vocational School Ag Mechanics program. In 2024, he was honored with induction into the Southern Hills Joint Vocational School Wall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments and service.

Following graduation, Brandon worked as a mechanic for the Case IH Superstore and Seip’s Auto Parts and Service in Georgetown, Ohio for many years before starting his own business specializing in lawn mower repair while also working as a Snap-on Tools dealer. For several years, he could be found traveling throughout the area in his Snap-on truck, ensuring fellow mechanics had the tools they needed to get the job done. He later joined the Ohio Department of Agriculture, where he was promoted into his current role as Plant Health Supervisor.

Brandon rarely slowed down. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and found purpose in serving others. Alongside his son, Bryce, he owned and operated B & W Lawncare while continuing to repair lawn mowers whenever he could. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2293 in Georgetown, Ohio and of the Sons of the American Legion, Williamsburg Post #288 in Williamsburg, Ohio.

Above all else, Brandon was a devoted husband and loving father. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children, Bryce and Sophia. Whether fishing, camping, boating, bowling, golfing, working together in the family lawn care business or simply being together, Brandon treasured every moment. He was especially proud to work alongside Bryce as they built B & W Lawncare, sharing the same strong work ethic. Sophia had her daddy wrapped around her finger and there was little he wouldn’t do for her. She loved being with him in the garage, proudly “helping” repair lawn mowers and making memories they both cherished. Brandon also loved to tease his wife, Crystal and could be quite ornery, always keeping her on her toes with his playful sense of humor. Though Brandon was well known for his bowling accomplishments, nothing brought him greater pride or happiness than being a husband and father.

Beyond his family, bowling was Brandon’s greatest passion. His love for the sport began at an early age. As a toddler, he could often be found bowling in the hallway of his home, using Coke bottles as pins, a plastic ball as his bowling ball and his mom as his faithful pinsetter. That childhood pastime grew into a lifelong passion as he became active in the Junior Bowling League before advancing into adult league competition. His accomplishments on the lanes were remarkable. Over the course of his bowling career, he rolled 12 perfect 300 games and three 800 series, achievements that reflect both exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. Among his many highlights were a perfect 300 game at the Beaver Vue Bowl State Tournament and a second-place finish in the Big Jokers Wild No Tap Tournament.

Off the lanes, Brandon proudly embraced another title, that of “Coach Winterod.” From 2020 to 2026, he served as the Georgetown High School Varsity Boys and Girls Bowling Coach, during which he made an extraordinary impact on his athletes both on and off the lanes. More than building successful teams, he created a family. As a mentor, coach and role model, he fostered an environment built on positive relationships, encouragement, accountability and genuine care for every athlete. During his six seasons as head coach, Brandon guided the boys' team to two SBAAC League Championships and the girls' team to five consecutive SBAAC League Championships, capturing a combined total of seven league titles. His dedication and leadership earned him SBAAC Coach of the Year honors seven times, while his athletes were recognized as SBAAC Player of the Year on seven occasions. He coached athletes at the OHSAA Division II State Bowling Tournament in both 2023-24 and 2025-26, continually inspiring excellence and encouraging every bowler to reach their fullest potential.

While Brandon’s accomplishments were many, they are only part of his story. He will be remembered most for the lives he touched, the relationships he built and the unwavering kindness, generosity and encouragement he shared with everyone he met. His influence extended far beyond the bowling lanes, leaving a lasting legacy within the Georgetown community that will be felt for generations to come.
