Bud Adams

Elmer O. "Bud" Adams, Jr., age 83 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. He hauled coal for the former Brookbank's in Ripley,drove a cab for the former Larry's Taxi in Ripley for many years, worked in the tobacco warehouses in Ripley, worked in highway construction and was a former member of the Manchester Fire Dept. Mr. Adams was born November 19, 1926 in Ripley, Ohio the son of the late Elmer and Pearl (Eckler) Adams. He was also preceded in death by one sister - Bessie Hedges; one son - David Adams and one great-granddaughter - Ligeia Napper.

Mr. Adams is survived by his significant other for the past twelve years - Lillian Germann; one daughter - Iris Whitehead of Dover, Kentucky; one son - Johnnie Adams of Ripley, Ohio; one sister - Emma Talley of Hamersville, Ohio; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Interment will be in Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen, Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to: The American Cancer Society.
