Carey Douglas Emmons, 74, of Ripley, Ohio passed away at his residence Tuesday morning January 13, 2015. Mr. Emmons was the tenth child of Leslie and Bess Pickett Fleming Emmons, born in Fleming County on February 24,1940.

He was a farmer and retired from the RULH school system. In February of 2014 he and his wife Suzanne Goldsberry Emmons celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and their five children, Karen (Mark) Heller of Maysville, Regina (Terry) Applegate of Maysville, Carey David Emmons of Ripley, Julie (Jay) Baldwin of St. Marys, OH.,and Mary Ann (Scott) Porter of Maysville. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren whom he dearly loved; Jacob, Elizabeth,Lauren, and Carter Heller, Justin, Braun, and Harrison Applegate, Douglas and Katie Emmons, Forest, Michael, Benedict, and Luke Baldwin, and Anna, Samuel, Maggie, and Asa Porter.

He is also survived by his five sisters Ann Curtis and Winona Reeder of Maysville, Alice Litton of Flemingsburg, Louisa (Ross) Mathis of Dayton, Ohio, and Maxine (Jack) Rankin of Columbus, Ohio; along with countless nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Christine Booton; and three brothers, John, Noel, and Bob Emmons.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley,Ohio. Brother Bruce Heller and Deacon Jack Rankin will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.

Pallbearers will be his six eldest grandsons; Braun Applegate, Jacob Heller, Harrison Applegate, Forest Baldwin, Douglas Emmons and Michael Carey Baldwin.
