Carl Wendell Liggett, age 88 of Hamersville, Ohio died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Liggett was a retired gear master for the Cincinnati Gear Company, a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ and a United States Navy World War II veteran. He was born on May 18, 1919 in Batavia, Ohio the son of the late B. Francis and Sarah D. (Walker) Liggett. He was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Liggett, four sisters, Ellen McClanahan, Cleo Crawford, Katherine Shinkle and Frances Earhart and one brother Theodore Liggett.
Mr. Liggett is survived by his wife - Ruth (McCracken) Liggett; one son - Douglas F. Carter and wife Joyce of Georgetown, Ohio; two daughters - Pamela J. Taylor and husband Steve of Cold Spring, Kentucky and Melanie Gilb and husband Cliff of Eastgate, Ohio. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren and one sister - Florence Kennedy of Bethel, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown. If desired, memorials may be made to the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio 45121. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown is serving the family.
