Catherine (Schwallie) Mathews

Catherine Lucille Mathews, age 87 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at her home.  She was a teller at the former Citizens National Bank for many years and was a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley.  Mrs. Mathews was born July 20, 1932 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles and Vera (Inskeep) Schwallie.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters – Eileen Fron, Jeannette McCaughey and Nadine Reineck.

Mrs. Mathews is survived by her loving husband of 61 ½ years – Don Mathews; one sister – Andrea O’Connor of Destin, Florida; four brothers – Joe Schwallie of Dayton, Ohio, August Schwallie of Ripley, Ohio, Jim Schwallie of Ripley, Ohio and Greg Schwallie of Graham Washington; many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio.  Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley.  Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.
