Charles R. “Chuck” Owen, age 91 of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. Mr. Owen was the owner of the former Owen Chevrolet – Oldsmobile dealership in Georgetown, Ohio for thirty years. He was a World War II Army veteran, past commander of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post # 180 in Georgetown, Ohio, a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, past Worshipful Master of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge #72 and the Bethel Masonic Lodge # 61 and a member of the Cincinnati Shrine. He had served on the Georgetown Exempted Village School Board of Education, the Georgetown Board of Public Affairs, Brown County Fair Board and was a member of the Georgetown Players Association and the Ohio and Greater Cincinnati Automobile Dealers Association. Mr. Owen was born July 31, 1924in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late William Robert and Lucille (Sibbalt) Owen. He was also preceded in death by his wife – Alta (Davis) Owen in 2012, one daughter – Mary Lu (Owen) Donohoo and one sister – Marjorie Rieleg.
Mr. Owen is survived by two daughters – Jean (Owen) Baxley and husband John of Aiken, South Carolina and Joni (Owen) Fussnecker and husband Frank of Georgetown, Ohio; five grandchildren – Judson Baxley and Mercedes, Catherine, Sydney and Matthew Fussnecker and one brother – William Owen and wife Faye of Starkville, Mississippi.
There will be no services. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
