Charlie Clarance Wallingford, age 86 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 7, 2026 at the Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky. He was born March 24, 1940 in Mason County, Kentucky the son of the late Robert B. and Audrey (Walker) Wallingford. Charlie devoted his life to a career in manufacturing, retiring from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Georgetown Church of Christ and a proud member of the United Auto Workers. The greatest accomplishment and joy of his life, however, was his family. He loved his family with all his heart and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. Family always came first and he never needed a special reason to show them how much they meant to him. He believed in being there, not just for the big milestones, but for all the little moments that made life special. They could always count on Charlie to be in the stands, in the audience or wherever he needed to be, proudly watching a grandchild or great-grandchild at a sporting event, school program or special occasion. Their accomplishments were his accomplishments; their happiness was his happiness and being part of their lives was one of his greatest blessings. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved, creating memories that his family will carry in their hearts forever. Charlie also had a special love for horses and golf, along with a variety of hobbies that kept him busy and brought him enjoyment. He loved woodworking, gardening, playing cards and bowling in men's leagues. Charlie especially enjoyed traveling with Croswell Bus Tours, where he and Dottie had the opportunity to experience new places, take in beautiful scenery and visit nearly every state. No matter how far his travels took him, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, always called him back. It was his home away from home and the place he loved most. Charlie's life was defined by the love he gave so freely and the countless memories he made along the way. While he enjoyed many things throughout his life, nothing ever compared to the time spent with his family. They were his greatest pride, his greatest joy and his most treasured legacy. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family for generations to come. Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters – Bob, Calvin, Joe, Emerson and Buck Wallingford, Dorothy Strode and Freda Neu and three brothers-in-law – Leon, Billy and Don “Pete” Hesler.
Mr. Wallingford is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years – Dorothy “Dottie” (Hesler) Wallingford whom he married September 14, 1957; two daughters – Rita Henize and husband Jay and Nicki Seip and husband Johnny both of Georgetown, Ohio; seven grandchildren – Katy Hultz and husband Nic of Georgetown, Ohio, Carley Passet and husband Ryan of Georgetown, Ohio, Lauren Moorehouse and husband Cody of Hamersville, Ohio, Jake Henize and wife Courtney of Georgetown, Ohio, Ben Griffith and wife Kate of Amelia, Ohio, Adam Griffith and wife Kristy of Chiang Mai, Thailand and Zach Seip and wife Caitlin of Georgetown, Ohio; eighteen great-grandchildren – Alex, Sydney and Ava Arn, Brock and Tatum Hultz, Roarke and Rhett Passet, Mackenzie and Riley Henize, Evie and Calvin Griffith, Aiden, Avery and Addy Griffith, Alyssa, Leah and Ella Seip and Jett Jones; one brother – Ralph Wallingford of Georgetown, Ohio; one sister – Betty Purdin of Lake Waynoka, Ohio; two sisters-in-law – Delores Hesler of Winchester, Ohio and Millie Burton of Russellville, Ohio; many nieces and nephews and special friends – Zach Corbin, Whitney Sroufe, Brad Pfeffer and Gerald Beiland.
