Delmar Daniel

Delmar Daniel, age 89 of Ripley, Ohio died Monday, September 22, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Daniel was a farmer, a school bus driver for the Ripley Union Lewis Huntington school district and served the village of Ripley for thirty years as a police officer, sexton of Maplewood Cemetery and street commissioner. He also served his community for forty years as a Union township trustee and thirty-seven years as a Brown County Service Commissioner. During World War II Mr. Daniel served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post # 367 in Ripley, Ohio, the Disabled American Veterans and the Maysville, Kentucky chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Daniel was born March 29, 1925 in Johnson County, Kentucky the son of the late Gus and Julia (Preston) Daniel. He was also preceded in death by three brothers a
