Donald Chapel, Sr.

Donald Lee Chapel, Sr, age 83 of Williamsburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 13, 1941 in Northern Kentucky the son of the late William A. and Margaret Jane (Youtsey) Chapel. Donald proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to service and dedication to his nation. He graduated from Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, before furthering his education at Eastern Kentucky University. Following his academic pursuits, Donald enjoyed a fulfilling career as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and also worked as an operator at Clinton Memorial Hospital. A committed member of the Mt. Orab First Baptist Church, Donald found solace and fellowship within his faith community. His interests extended beyond his professional life; he cherished hobbies such as bowling, fishing, and golfing, activities that allowed him to connect with friends and family while enjoying the great outdoors. Besides his parents, Donald is preceded in death by one brother - John W. Chapel; one granddaughter - Stacy Renee Kirklan and one great grandchild - Kyrie Michael.

Mr. Chapel is survived by his loving wife of 56 years – Shirley Ann (Carter) Chapel; two children – Donald L. Chapel, Jr. and wife Jeanette of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Lee Ann Pickens and husband Charles of New Vienna, Ohio; one sister-in-law – Ann Chapel of Willoughby, Ohio; five grandchildren – Forress Ann Clark, Michael Bryan Chapel, Anthony Michael Chapel, Kayla Marie Conner and Dakoda Monroe Pickens; fourteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Mt. Orab First Baptist Church, 704 S. High Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio. Jonathan Lawler will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. -11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. Committal service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Alexandria Cemetery in Alexandria, Kentucky with military services by the VFW Post 3205 Alexandria. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
