Mr. Dorman Castle, age 95 of Aberdeen, Ohio, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Brown Co. General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a member of the Grace Church in Washington, KY. and also attended the Ripley Church of the Nazarene where he sang specials almost every service. Mr. Castle was a salesman for Castle Mobile Homes and a building contractor. Prior to being a contractor, he owned and operated a milk route for Carnation Milk Co.. He also worked for Bradford Machine Tool in Cincinnati, Ohio. In earlier years, both he and Mrs. Castle worked at Wald Mfg. in Maysville, Ky. Other businesses included owning and operating a grocery store and working on the family farm.
Mr. Castle was born on September 30, 1911 in Paintsville, KY. the son of the late Cyrus and Jemima Castle. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Catherine (Dillon) Castle; one great grandchild, James Graham Mason; six brothers - Homer, Hollie, Estill, William, Glone and Sonnie; three sisters - Blanch Castle, Ollie Mae Hamm and Genoah Hershburger.
Mr. Castle is survived by one daughter, Frances and husband Rev. Commadore Manning of Aberdeen, Ohio; three sons - James and wife Carol (Pollitt) Castle of Aberdeen, Ohio, Charles and wife Garnetta (Cummins) Castle of Aberdeen and Homer and wife Kathy (Eldridge) Castle of Springboro, Ohio; ten grandchildren - Rev. James Manning and wife Carla of Aberdeen, Ohio; Gerald Manning of Aberdeen, Ohio; James Castle, Jr. and wife Claudia of Aberdeen,Ohio; Julie Harrop and husband Trent of Peebles, Ohio; Janet Gaffin and husband Ed of Orlando, Florida; Jonelle Arnold and husband Terry of Peebles, Ohio; Charles Castle, Jr. of Morehead, Kentucky; Rev.Clark Castle and wife Robyn of Aberdeen, Ohio; Michael Castle and wife Ginger of Chillicothe, Ohio; and Rochelle Massey and husband Steve of Winchester, Ohio; nineteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; two sisters - Julia Simpson of Cherry Fork, Ohio and Stella Williams of Batavia, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Norma Polley of Nicholasville, Kentucky and one brother-in-law, Paul Kirkland of Foxport, Kentucky. He is also survived by a host nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James T. Manning and Rev. Clark Castle will officiate. Music will be provided by grandchildren James Manning, Julie Harrop, Clark Castle, Michael Castle and Rochelle Massey. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 17 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen, Ohio. Serving as pall bearers will be: Gerald Manning, Charles Castle, James Castle, Ryan Mason, Jarrod Mason and Tyler Arnold.
