Dorothy Achor

Dorothy Lester Achor, age 91 of Winchester, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at her residence. She was born May 4, 1934 in Clay County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Charlie and Grace (Gilbert) Hensley. She leaves behind a legacy marked by compassion and dedication, particularly in her career as a senior companion in elder care. Throughout her life, Dorothy demonstrated an unwavering commitment to nurturing and caring for others, a testament to her warm and giving spirit. Dorothy cherished the moments spent with her children and grandchildren, finding joy and fulfillment in her family's laughter and love. Her home was always a gathering place, where memories were made and stories shared, fostering a strong sense of togetherness that will continue to resonate with those she leaves behind. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband – Billy Achor; one daughter – Rubi Diamond; one son – Charles E. Achor; two brothers – Lyman Hensley and Pat Hensley and two sisters – Eulanda Hughes and Margaret Taulbee.

Mrs. Achor is survived by three children – Billy Jo Achor of Sardinia, Ohio, Jeffrey Lynn Achor of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Norma Jean Becknell of Macon, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren and one brother – Delbert Hensley of Dodsonville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Tim Lorenzo will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Buford Cemetery in Buford, Ohio.
