Dorothy Ellen Koch

Dorothy Ellen Kautz Koch died in her sleep on November 30, 2008. Mrs. Koch lived in Georgetown, Ohio with her husband, Charles Koch.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Koch is survived by her four children, Susan Koch, C. James Koch, William Koch, and Lisa Greene. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren-Megan Popp, Charlie Koch, Nick Huizenga, Alex Greene, Jon Greene, Jessica Greene, Eric Greene, Elizabeth Koch, Emily Koch, Matthew Koch, Andrew Koch, and one great grandson Henry Popp. She is also survived by four caregivers- Marilyn Bowen, Linn Stalbosky, Joni Green, and Judy Liming. Her sisters Joanne Kautz Raussen and Marilyn Kautz Gray preceded her in death.
Born in Cincinnati on September 19, 1923, Mrs. Koch was the oldest daughter of Jim and Bess Kautz. Mrs. Koch grew up in Cincinnati, where she graduated from Withrow High School and the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority.
Mrs. Koch received a masters in education from the University of Cincinnati and taught elementary school for 19 years in the Reading, Madeira, and Indian Hill schools. She served as the head of the Indian Hill Chapter of the Ohio Teachers Association. Upon retirement, Mrs. Koch and her husband lived in Long Boat Key, Florida. Later, she and her husband moved to Georgetown, Ohio where her father's family had lived for many generations.
Mrs. Koch was a member of the Cincinnati Women's Club and the College Club. She was a gardener, a skilled bridge player, and a traditional quilt maker. She traveled extensively, and enjoyed collecting antiques.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at the Koch home at 7702 White Swan Road, in Georgetown, Ohio . Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on December 3, 2008 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will in the Confidence Cemetery.
