Dorothy Mcelroy

Dorothy Charlotte Ida McElroy, age 87, of Georgetown, Ohio died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. Mrs. McElroy was the owner and operator of McElroy Shoe Store for over 40 years. She was also a member of the St. George Catholic Church, the St. George Alter Society, was the first president of the Georgetown Business Womens Association, and was on the Board of the American Cancer Society and the Brown County M.R.D.D. She was born in Cheviot, Ohio on July 7, 1917 the daughter of the late John Matthew and Elizabeth (Munifer) Dirr. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Maria McElroy.

Mrs. McElroy is survived by one daughter - Jean Foster and husband, Ron of Georgetown, Ohio; four sons - Donald McElroy and wife, Pat; David McElroy; Johnny McElroy and wife, Karen; and Samuel McElroy and wife Margie, all of Georgetown, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at the St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. John Fischer will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio with Rosary Service at 7:45 P.M. Interment will be in Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the St. George Catholic Church or the Palliative Care at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio.
