Dorothy Carol Smith

Dorothy Carol Smith, age 85 of Moscow, Idaho died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the Gritman Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Carol was born on July 5, 1923 in Ripley, Ohio, one of four children born to the late Wilbur and Carol Dorothy (Stairs) Liggett. She was a graduate of Georgetown High School and continued her education in secretarial studies, a career that she retired from as a secretary for the State of Ohio. In 1962 she married Earle Smith in Cincinnati, Ohio. Later the couple moved to Florida where they lived for many years. After their retirement, they traveled around the country, often visiting her sister in Moscow, Idaho. After Earle's death in February of 1994, Carol moved to Moscow to be closer to her sister.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, Earle Smith and two brothers, Archie and David Liggett.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one sister, Lois Leonard and husband Bob of Moscow, Idaho and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Linwood Cemetery in Russellville. Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Friendly Neighbors Meal Site, 412 East 3rd Street, Moscow, Idaho 83843. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
