Dorothy Jeanette Whisman, age 76 of Mt.Orab, Ohio died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. She was a nurse aid. Dorothy was born May 20, 1936 in New Hope, Ohio the daughter of the late John Earl and Bertha Mary Belle (Honaker) McKinzie. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter - Karen Kay, four brothers - Rev. Jesse McKinzie, Rev. Richard "Sam" McKinzie, John McKinzie and Ralph McKinzie, and three sisters - Freda Coleman, Margie Kunkel and Esther Ruth Allen.
Mrs. Whisman is survived by her husband of sixty years, George Whisman, Jr., whom she married November 17, 1952; eight children - Ronald Whisman and wife Jutta and grandson Chris Whisman of Fredrickburg, Texas , Connie Sebree and husband Stan of Mt.Orab, Ohio, Thomas Whisman and wife Debbie of Hamersville, Ohio, Bill Whisman and wife Teresa of Georgetown, Ohio, June Lindahl and Doug of Anderson Township, Ohio, Jean Frazier and husband Elmer of Georgetown, Ohio, Dennis Whisman and wife Kim of Mt.Orab, Ohio and David Whisman and wife Cheryl of Hamersville, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; three sisters - Vivian Day of Georgetown, Ohio, Susie Scaggs of Winchester, Kentucky and JoAnn Maynard of Georgetown, Ohio; one brother-in-law - Gene Allen and family of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; three sisters-in-law - Helen McKinzie of Pt. Isabel, Ohio, Irene McKinzie of Felicity, Ohio and Nella McKinzie of Sardinia, Ohio and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Pastor Bob Sandlin will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
