Ed Estep

Arnold Edward "Ed" Estep, age 69 of Ripley, Ohio, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, KY.. He was a farmer, he worked as a veterinary assistant at River Downs for many years, was a 4-H Advisor for The Huntington Hot Shots for many years and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Estep was born on July 27, 1939 in Fleming Co., KY. the son of the late Arnold Lee and Eula (Downey) Estep. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Esther McComas,

Mr. Estep is survived by his wife of forty eight years, Betty (Gardner) Estep; one daughter, Alisa Applegate and husband Richard "Red" of Ripley, Ohio; two grandchildren - Maria and Drew Applegate; three sisters - Zivra Estep of Ripley, Rosemary Smith of Ft. Myers, Florida and Frances Burton of West Union, Ohio; two brothers - Doss Estep of Cincinnati, Ohio and Burman Estep of Milford, Ohio; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 4, 2008 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. John Neu will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday evening, August 3, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service on Monday in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
