Eddie Gene Crawford, Sr

Eddie Gene Crawford, Sr., age 70 of Higginsport, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was retired from the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington School District, where he worked as a custodian for over eighteen years and also coached high school baseball for many years. He also formerly served on the Higginsport Village Council and The Higginsport Volunteer Fire Dept. Mr. Crawford was born on June 3, 1937 in Higginsport, Ohio the son of the late Paul M. and Dorothy F. Spires Crawford. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Richard Crawford.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his loving wife of over fifty years, Barbara (Starrett) Crawford; four daughters - Pam Crawford of Ripley, Ohio; Paula Hines and husband David of Georgetown, Ohio; Teresa Crawford Reid and companion David Black of Ripley, Ohio and Lisa Crawford of Higginsport, Ohio; one son, Eddie Crawford, Jr. and wife Wanda of Higginsport, Ohio; four grandchildren - Nicholas and Nathaniel Crawford, Tiffany Hines and Cody Reid, all at home; one sister, Jo-Ann Maloney of Higginsport, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. Clark Castle will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Saturday, October 20 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Shinkle's Ridge Cemetery near Higginsport, Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
