Edna Mae Parr, age 89 of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the Villa Georgetown in Georgetown, Ohio. She was a homemaker. During World War II she worked for a company in Akron, Ohio that made parachutes and in later years she worked as a dietician at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Ms. Parr was born on July 22, 1918 in Peebles, Ohio the daughter of the late James Washburn and Lydia Frances (Riley) Ogden. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Oakley and Tom Ogden and two sisters, Ida Schadle and Mary Alice Ogden.
She is survived by one son - Howard Eldon Parr and his wife Sandra of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters - Janice Sams and husband John of Sardinia, Ohio and Jo Anne Shelton and husband John of Mt. Orab, Ohio; seven grandchildren - Teresa Smith and husband Daryl, Terry Sams and wife Elaine, Mike Parr and wife Allyson, Kim Slone and husband Gary, Gary Miller and wife Karisa, Randy Miller and Travis Miller and wife Kim; twenty-two great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and one sister - Katie Fender of New Vienna, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Family minister Vernon Green and Rev. Chad Quick will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday. Interment will be in the Mt. Orab Cemetery in Mt. Orab, Ohio. If desired, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Boulevard, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154.
