Edward Woods Flannery, age 61 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. He was a retired industrial mechanic from Dayton Power and Light, a tobacco and cattle farmer, and most importantly, a beloved husband, father, “Pappy”, brother and uncle. He was also a Freemason and member of Union Lodge 71 in Ripley, Ohio and The Valley of Cincinnati Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Mr. Flannery was born October 25, 1957 in Logan, West Virginia, the son of the late Louis C. Flannery and Charlotte (Pultz) Christian. He was preceded in death by his special and loving grandmother, Bessie Lee (Duncan) Flannery.
Mr. Flannery is survived by his wife of 36 years, Darlene (Regenstein) Flannery of Ripley, Ohio; one son, Aaron Flannery of Ripley, Ohio; one daughter, Lauren Flannery of Amelia, Ohio; and one granddaughter, London O’Neal of Amelia, Ohio. He is also survived by five brothers – Clinton W. Flannery (JoAnn) of Bethel, Ohio, Ronald D. Flannery (Lisa) of Dunedin, Florida, Tim P. Flannery (Lisa) of Ripley, Ohio, Scott J. Flannery (Tracy) of Ripley, Ohio, and Rick L. Flannery of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky. Mr. Flannery leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, along with many close relatives and friends from throughout his life.
Visitation will be held at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio on Friday, March 8th from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and will include Masonic services. Funeral services will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio on Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow the funeral service in Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley, Ohio.
