Elba Lee Hatten, age 81 of Georgetown, Ohio died Friday, September 5, 2025 at Anderson Mercy Hospital in Anderson Township, Ohio. He was born November 10, 1943 in Huntington, West Virginia the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Thompson) Hatten. Elba was a retired manager of the former Certified Gas and Convenience Station in Georgetown, Ohio. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a dedicated member of the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180. Elba was actively involved in the Georgetown United Methodist Church, demonstrating his commitment to his community and faith. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing and bowling, pursuits that brought happiness to his life. His contributions and spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters – Alfred Hatten, Marion Hatten, Helen McComas and Carolyn Fry and one sister-in-law - Janet Maynard and husband Paul.

Mr. Hatten is survived by his wife of fifty years – Patty (Elkins) Hatten whom he married December 7, 1974; one son – Jeff Hatten and wife Staci of Georgetown, Ohio; one step-son – Joe Stapleton of Felicity, Ohio; four grandchildren – Ely and Paetyn Hatten, Brittany Day and husband John and Dana Webb and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Georgetown United Methodist Church, 217 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Ohio with military honors by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post#180. Dan Pelzel will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Cremation will follow the services. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
