Esther L. Chaplin

Esther Louise Chaplin, age 76 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Hospice of Hope Inpatient Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky. She was born December 20, 1948 in Xenia, Ohio the daughter of the late Ralph and Grace (Johnson) McKee. Esther was a cherished homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. Known for her impressive collection of McKee Glass, she had an eye for beauty and detail. She found joy in tending to her flowers and her love for baking, especially evident in her homemade bread, which she shared with loved ones. Her talents exceeded in everything she did, including sewing, where she poured her creativity into every stitched. Above all, Esther was an avid reader and could often be found lost in the pages of a good book. Her legacy is one of warmth, creativity and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters – Veda (McKee) Sharon and Emma Lee (McKee) Gill and one brother-in-law – Eric Chaplin.

Mrs. Chaplin is survived by her husband of 57 years – Phillip Craig Chaplin whom she married February 24, 1968; one daughter – Hilary Walton and husband Richard of Utica, New York; two brothers – Russell McKee of Georgetown, Ohio and Mark McKee and wife Gloria of Texas; two sisters – Clara (McKee) Hetzel of Fleming County, Kentucky and Becky (McKee) Waddle and husband John of Marietta, Georgia; one niece – Gail Boldman and husband Russell of Cincinnati, Ohio; two nephews – Scott Palmer and wife Gerri of Peebles, Ohio and Chris Hetzel and wife Jill of Hillsboro, Ohio; several great nieces and nephews and a host of friends and special neighbors.

Following cremation, there will be no services. Inurnment will be in the West Union Cemetery in West Union, Ohio at the convenience of the family. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
