Esther Ruth Adams

Esther Ruth Mitchell Adams, age 91 of Aberdeen Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley. Ohio. She was born June 27th, 1934, in Adams County, Ohio the daughter of the late Esta and Howard Mitchell.

She loved traveling with her daughters and shopping. She also loved playing cards with friends and going dancing.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Ernest (Jim) Adams; two brothers - Ralph Mitchell and Marion Mitchell; one sister - Mary Dunaway

Mrs. Adams is survived by her four children - Son, Gerald Adams and wife Cheryl, two daughters - June Applegate and husband Joe, Joy Oberschlake and husband Marion and son Jimmy Adams and wife Kristi, seven grandchildren, Gerald Adams Jr., Sarah Applegate and Fiancé Dan Allen , Casey Applegate and wife Tracy, Daniel Oberschlake and wife Kaitlinn, Michael Oberschlake and fiancée Kamryn Kendall, Victoria (Adams)Hamm and husband Tyler, and SSgt. Zachary Adams; eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 19, 2025 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Pastor Kurt Hopper will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday. Interment will follow the funeral service in Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen, Ohio.

Pall Bearers will be Jimmy Adams, Joe Applegate, Marion Oberschlake, Casey Applegate, Daniel Oberschlake, Michael Oberschlake, and honorary Pall Bearer Zachary Adams.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the amazing people at Ohio Valley Manor for the wonderful care that was given to her as she truly loved them like family because they treated her like family.
