Florence Scott

Florence Scott, age 96 of Georgetown, Ohio died Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Meadowview Regional Hospital in Maysville, Kentucky. She was a fifty year employee with the P. Sullivan and U.S. Shoe Companies. Mrs. Scott was born November 30, 1917 in Vanceburg, Kentucky the daughter of the late Noble and Martha (Burnett) Gilkison. She was also preceded in death by her husband – John Earl Scott in 1995, one great grandson – Eric Blair, one sister – Opal Van Meter and one brother – Wilbur Gilkison.

Mrs. Scott is survived by one daughter – Pat Hopkins of Georgetown, Ohio; one son – Edward Scott of Georgetown, Ohio; five grandchildren – Dean Hopkins and wife Viola of Lebanon, Ohio, Toni Blair of Hamersville, Ohio, Michelle Hopkins of Georgetown, Ohio, Christopher Hopkins and wife Tammy of Lebanon, Ohio and Steven Hopkins of Parrish, Florida; six great grandchildren – Bethany Bolender and husband Larry, Dylan Hopkins, Nicole Ferris, Kaycee Hopkins, Michael Hopkins and Ryan Hopkins and two great-great grandchildren – Adelyn and Ella Bolender.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Sam Talley will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations of non-perishable food items may be sent to the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio 45121 or to the Decatur Food Pantry, Decatur, Ohio 45115.
