Frank William Kemmeter, Sr., age 78 of Ripley, Ohio, died Wednesday April 2, 2008 at The Adams Co. Regional Medical Center near Seaman, Ohio. He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran, a lifetime member of The Maysville VFW Post #2734 and a lifetime member of The Ripley DAV. He worked most of his life as a machinist and woodworker. He was born on August 27, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Alfonse and Dorothy (Long) Kemmeter. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Kemmeter and two brothers, Paul and Mike Kemmeter.
Mr. Kemmeter is survived by his wife of 29 years, Deborah (Ward) Kemmeter; eleven children - Larry of West Union, Ohio; Frank, Jr. of Ripley, Ohio; Terry of Ripley, Ohio; Jeff of Felicity, Ohio; Linda Sandlin of Union, Kentucky; Karen Kemmeter of Albany, Ohio; Wally of Decatur, Ohio; Mike of Ripley, Ohio; Beverly Crawford of Union, Kentucky; Rebecca Curtis of Aberdeen, Ohio and Shawn Daniels of Portsmouth, Ohio; twenty one grandchildren and thirty four great-grandchildren; four sisters - Betty Miller of Middletown, Ohio; Ruth Lipps of Cincinnati,Ohio; Dorothy Durkin of Cincinnati, Ohio and Virginia Lampe of Australia.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. David Wirth will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Saturday evening. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio with military honors being provided by The Maysville VFW Post #2734.
