Franklin Alexander Moe, Sr.

Franklin A. Moe, Sr., age 81 of Georgetown, Ohio died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Mercy Health West Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Moe was a graduate of Georgetown High School and Wright State University and attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. He retired from the Dictaphone Corporation and then became the owner and manager of Mac’s Dairy Bar in Georgetown, Ohio. He taught cooking to special needs students at the Southern Hillls Joint Vocational school for many years and was a DJ at the former WURD-FM radio station. Mr. Moe was a member of St. George Catholic Church and loved singing, playing the piano and was a published song writer. He served his country in the United States Navy reserve. Mr. Moe was born July 11, 1934 in Macon, Missouri the son of the late Dr. Dean G. and Edith (Franklin) Moe. He was also preceded in death by two sons – Franklin A. Moe, Jr. and Michael Moe, one grandson – Zachary Tyler Moe and one sister – Marilyn Liggett.

Mr. Moe is survived by his wife of sixty-two years – Shirley (Cochrane) Moe, whom he married February 27, 1954; one daughter – Sherry Corcoran of Georgetown, Ohio; two sons – James F. Moe and wife Elizabeth of Wright City, Missouri and Robert Moe and wife Regina of Georgetown, Ohio; twelve grandchildren – Brittany Hunter, Sarah, Christiane, Robert, Alexandra, Rebecca, Adam and Connor Moe, Justine, Ashley and Lauren Corcoran and Katie Yochum and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. Saturday at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
