Gerald M. Mitchell

Gerald M. Mitchell, age 82 of Ripley, Ohio, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at his residence. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran, a farmer, a retired construction operating engineer, a member of Union Local #181 and a member of the Courts Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 of Ripley, Ohio. Mr. Mitchell was born April 30 1927 in Fleming Co., Kentucky, the son of the late Charles and Mae (Dillon) Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by a daughter - Beverly Jan Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of fifty eight years - Martha (Bailey) Mitchell; four daughters - Kathy Bushong of Russellville, Ohio; Carol Frisch of Batavia, Ohio; Natalie Via of Sardinia, Ohio and Jennifer Back of Sardinia, Ohio; three sons - Michael Mitchell of Beavercreek, Ohio; Jeffery Mitchell of Frankfort, Ohio and Douglas Mitchell of Ripley, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
