Geraldine Gifford

Mrs. Geraldine Gifford, age 91 of Ripley, Ohio, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley. She was retired from the Ripley Union Lewis School District, where she worked as an executive secretary and she was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley. Mrs. Gifford was born on March 5, 1918 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Earl and Kathryn (Noll) Gardner. She was also preceded in death by her husband in 1978, Robert S. Gifford and one sister, Roberta Marting.

Mrs. Gifford is survived by three daughters - Barbara Conway (Larry) of Gahanna, Ohio, Beverly Hyden (Julie Renner) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roberta Chamness (Ray Armstrong) of Ripley, Ohio; two sons - Roger Gifford (Beverly) of Ripley, Ohio and Paul Gifford (Sandy Kistler) of Ripley, Ohio; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. James Schmitmeyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 31 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral mass in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Valley Manor Activities Fund.
