Gregory Alan Smith, age 68 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at his residence. He was born January 30, 1957 in Abilene, Texas the son of the late Ronald and Betty (Prickett) Smith. Greg was retired from Eastern Kentucky Power and a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ in Georgetown, Ohio. Throughout his life, he was known for his intelligence and practical skills, capable of tackling any challenge that came his way. Greg found joy in various hobbies, including avid golfing, reading, cycling and engaging in word games like Wordle. A talented cook and baker, he was particularly renowned for his delicious cheesecake and cookies, which brought joy to many. Above all, Greg cherished his family, friends and faith, which were the cornerstones of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and support that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Besides he parents, Greg was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years – Nancy (Stenger) Smith in 2022 whom he married February 25, 1977, one son – Gregory Alan Smith, II in 2017, one brother – David Smith and father and mother-in-law – John E. and Henrietta Stenger.

Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter – Angie Smith of Bountiful, Utah; one granddaughter – Emma; two sisters – Rhonda Smith of Lebanon, Ohio and Jerri Swearingen of Georgetown, Ohio; six brothers and sisters-in-law – Dottie Loudon of Georgetown, Ohio, Cynthia Noffsinger and husband Mike of Bountiful, Utah, Ed Stenger and wife Sue of Tennessee, Theresa Stenger of Georgetown, Ohio, Tim Stenger and wife Teresa of Amelia, Ohio and Patty Kenney and husband Nick of Overland Park, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

To honor Greg’s wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all his wonderful and kind friends and neighbors. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
