Harold Louis Schmidt

Harold Louis Schmidt, age 86 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Villa Georgetown Nursing Home in Georgetown, Ohio. He worked for U.S. Shoe for many years and retired from R.K. LeBlond of Cincinnati in 1982. He was a United States Army WWII Veteran and a member of Chapter 90 of The DAV. He attended the Ripley Church of The Nazarene and was a member of Ripley Heritage. Mr. Schmidt was born on June 4, 1920 in Fernleaf, KY. the son of the late Frank and Maggie (Faul) Schmidt. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Schmidt; an infant sister and a son-in-law, Doug Sweet.

Mr. Schmidt is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Ruby Frances (Swearingen) Schmidt; two daughters - Linda Truitt and husband Dale of Ripley, Ohio and Vickie Sweet of Maysville, KY.; one grandson, Jeff Truitt of Ripley, Ohio and one granddaughter, Toni Pence Burton of Maysville, KY.; three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Blvd., Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154.
