Herbert "Herbie" Paxton, Jr.

Herbert Paxton, Jr., age 81 of Mt. Orab. Ohio passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Hospice of Hope Inpatient Care Center at Adams County Regional Medical Center in Seaman, Ohio. He was born June 24, 1944 in Jackhorn, Kentucky the son of the late Herbert and Venice (Patrick) Paxton, Sr. Herbie was a retired welder for General Electric and a proud United States Navy veteran. He had a great love for fishing, which brought him joy throughout his life. Above all, Herbie was a devoted family man and a remarkable Papaw, cherished deeply by his loved ones. His dedication and warmth will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Besides his parents, Herbie was preceded in death by two brothers – Ted Paxton and Ralph Paxton.

Mr. Paxton is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years – Suella (Combs) Paxton whom he married August 31, 1963; five children – Sue (Tom) Huff of Newport, Tennessee, Ed (Shelly) Paxton of Huntersville, North Carolina, Ted Paxton of Columbus, Ohio, Shelle (Gerald) White of Cold Spring, Kentucky and John Paxton of Mt.Orab, Ohio; twelve grandchildren – Amanda (Chad) Carter, Jonathon (Shay) Paxton, Lissa (Dave) Renn, Jacob Paxton, Matt Fogliano, TC (Elaine) Fogliano, Tyrell (Gabi) Paxton, Dugan Paxton, Gerald White, Jr., Kayleigh White, Jackson White and JP Paxton; thirteen great grandchildren and two brothers – JB (Brenda) Paxton of Amelia, Ohio and Larry (Robin) Paxton of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
